Architects home in on charity appeal
April 16 2009
A fundraising initiative with a difference has been launched by Shelter Scotland and the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland.Specifically aimed at home-owners it grants members of the public opportunity to discuss home improvements with a RIAS chartered architect in a free hour long session, in return for a £40 donation to Shelter.
It is hoped that that the scheme can serve three main aims, aid property owners in improving the value and comfort of their homes, highlight that architectural services are for everyone (not just the privileged) and provide much needed finance to Shelter in their efforts to help those in housing need.
Registration is open from April 25, until July 1, 2009 at www.architectinthehouse.org.uk. Matching then takes place in early July and consultations can take place any time up to the end of November 2009.
