Riach reveal Ruthven Lane reconstruction
April 15 2009
Riach Partnership Ltd have released fresh images of their Ruthven Lane scheme, hot on the heels of planning and conservation area consent from Glasgow City Council.Located in the heart of Glasgow's bustling west end the proposal, for Ruthven Property Partnership, comprises a low slung terrace sporting a contextual pitched roof above rendered walls with elements of brick, timber and aluminium.
A row of back street retail units are now set for the chop to make way for the two storey mixed use scheme, which combines replacement retail provision with upper level office space.
Some independent shops and businesses have voiced concern that they will be unable to continue trading if rents are raised and it will see the loss of several old byres, thought to have given Byres Road its name. A lockable barrier will control access from this retail thoroughfare.
