Dual base for Dualchas
April 15 2009
Skye based Dualchas Building Design and Hebridean Contemporary Homes are to open a second office at the famous former carpet factory, Templeton on the Green, in order to better manage the expanding practice’s central belt assets. To be officially opened by Alex Neill MSP, Minister for Housing and Communities, this weekend the office is a striking vote of confidence in the west coast market.
A complement of five full time design staff, including two architects, a technician, technical manager and a part two architectural assistant will work on a variety of schemes including domestic projects in Milngavie, Ayrshire and Isle of Bute, a Winery and office in Lanark and several extension/renovation projects in both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Ann Nisbet, senior architect at Dualchas, explained the objectives of the central belt outpost: “We see the new Glasgow office as a chance to demonstrate our ambition and expand the work of the practice.
“The new Glasgow office will allow us to take on projects in a wider geographic area, and increase the amount of urban work which the practice is involved in. This will range from relatively small domestic projects, to larger scale developments in a variety of sectors.”
