A bug's life for T&A
March 30 2009
The UK’s first “Bug” tourist attraction is taking shape at the Albert Docks, Liverpool, courtesy of construction and property consultants Thomas and Adamson, developed by Rogers Group Investment Ltd.A menagerie of prime bug specimens are being sourced from around the world, valued for their conservation and educational value, featuring digital exhibits and 'a suite of interactive experiences' in six BugWorld Experience zones, including ‘find out more’ terminals, games and information points. Other exciting features of the experience include virtual bugs that visitors can interact with and “handle”, to complement the live specimens and their human handlers.
This creepy crawley chicanery is housed within the spectacular confines of the grade A listed warehouse which preserves a barrel vaulted ceiling, stone floor and cast iron columns.
Commenting Alastair Wallace, Partner at T&A said, “The BugWorld Experience will bring a unique attraction to Britain that contributes across the board to the public, to the environment and to families as an amazing learning experience. We hope this will give the people of Liverpool a new ‘Beetle’ experience.”
BugWorld will send Liverpudlians bug eyed from early June 2009.
