Manufacturing hub to boost Aberdeen's food & drink industry
March 20 2025
An innovative manufacturing hub is poised to propel Aberdeen's food & drink industry forward following its official launch.
The £27m facility by Opportunity North East (ONE) provides industrial kitchens and testing spaces for businesses which wish to scale production or develop new products and processes.
ONE SeedPod, built by Robertson Construction Eastern, will also host a range of experts to help mentor new businesses in the sector.
ONE chair Sir Ian Wood said: “Food and drink is northeast Scotland’s biggest industry after energy, employing 22,000 people, and the UK’s largest manufacturing sector. The unique combination of food-safe manufacturing and innovation space, facilities and support at ONE SeedPod will accelerate the growth of businesses in the region and across Scotland."
The project team includes Keppie and LDA Design.

I drew up the most barebones extension imaginable to a bit like this years ago and the cost of the conveyor belt system alone was 20 million. Not convinced you even have a job if you think 27 million is buying anything insane these days
Some nice detailing but the colour angle has been put on with a trowel.
