Characterful homes planned for land near Rosyth Dockyards
March 11 2025
An application for planning in principle has been made for 24 family homes on a cleared site off Rosyth Road, Forsyth.
Reiach & Hall have been appointed by Capital & Provincial to create a characterful cluster of flats and houses with views to the Port of Rosyth on land previously host to temporary accommodation pods for workers constructing new aircraft carriers at the nearby dockyard.
Vacant ground will be reintegrated into the town by routing a central street through the site, providing access to a mix of semi-detached properties and apartments arranged around a central play space.
In their application, the architects wrote: "The masterplan proposes an architectural style and palette of materials that will be suitable for the new neighbourhood in Rosyth, and serves to inform any future detailed planning applications.
"The dwellings should be simple in form with pitched roofs, dormers. The primary elevations are to positively address streets and lanes, and may include external balconies that are accessed through glazed, sliding doors."
Access will be via the existing entrance off Castle Road.
