Hundreds of homes planned for West Calder Station

Persimmon Homes and Dougal Baillie Associates have lodged plans for 214 homes, including a park and bus interchange, on open ground to the immediate north of West Calder Station.

Plans include a park-and-ride facility in front of the northern platform, backing onto a new park bisected by landscaped walking routes to the new homes.

Surrounded by a belt of open space to prioritise views of a group of landscaped shale bings, known as the Five Sisters, the development includes a walking link to Main Street.

Accessible by a new junction off the A71 the development will include provision for a future access road to Gavieside.
