Govan active travel network branches out with new route designs
February 25 2025
Locals have been invited to have their say on the second set of developed route designs for an active travel network linking Govan with surrounding areas.
Connecting to the newly opened Govan-Partick Bridge the network will introduce new cycle and footpaths across Greater Govan, together with associated public realm improvements and realigned junctions.
Six additional routes have been added by Jacobs to the first tranche of projects, incorporating key arteries such as Langlands Road, Craigton Road, Berryknowes Road and Dumbreck Road.
Cllr Angus Millar commented: "Projects such as Connecting Greater Govan are all about ensuring that walking, wheeling and cycling options are an attractive, viable choice for everyday journeys and I would urge the community to look at the detailed designs for the latest route proposals and share their feedback."
Feedback on the proposals is invited through 30 March.
Who do they hate more: drivers suddenly facing a plant pot obstacle course into opposing traffic, or cyclists being launched into a lamppost?!
This is now such hilariously bad urban design it is bordering on malfeasance....
