Scottish Design Awards judges step up to the plate
February 20 2025
A hand-picked group of creatives spanning the full spectrum of commissioning, industry and education have taken their places to judge the 2025 Scottish Design Awards.
The onerous task of surfacing the finest examples of Scottish creativity is split between two panels, with separate design and architecture teams tasked with bringing their expertise to bear in rewarding the best examples of design and architecture.
Among those tackling the design side of the equation is Paul Condron, brand director at Edrington, who commented: "As we review the submissions, I’ll be looking for work that tells a compelling story, shows real originality and innovation, and blends aesthetic brilliance with usability. Also, in those categories where it matters, consideration of environmental impact and selection of materials will be in our minds."
Speaking on behalf of the architecture panel Daisy Narayanan, director of public realm at The Crown Estate, said: "I love the idea of storytelling through design and work that embeds people and place at its very heart. I look forward to seeing the ambition, creativity and innovation of the design sector reflected in the entries."
The full judging line-up is available to view at The Scottish Design Awards.
