The full extent of a planned holiday village near Hawick in the Scottish Borders has been revealed, together with the announcement that a prominent local landscape architect will front the project.
Center Parc's will host an introductory meet and greet with locals at Hawick Rugby Club on 12 February between 11:00 and 19:00 during which more details will be given of the leisure operators first venture north of the border.
In a statement, Center Parcs wrote: "We are pleased to announce that we have appointed Paul Hogarth as our community liaison officer. Paul was brought up in Hawick and is the founder of a landscape architecture, urban design and planning consultancy – The Paul Hogarth Company. Paul has recently worked on the Hawick Place Plan and will be the main point of contact for local enquiries about the Center Parcs project."
The £350m proposal would see an indoor water park built on farmland owned by the Buccleuch Group north of the town, the seventh such venture to be built across the UK and Ireland.
