Landscape architecture practice RaeburnFarquharBowen has become the latest business to make the switch to an employee ownership trust as it seeks to democratise its success.
Formed in 2011 by Sheena Raeburn and Nick Bowen the practice has been engaged in landscape and public realm design from Kirkwall to Clydebank with an emphasis on harmonising communities with nature.
Co-founder Sheena Raeburn said: "We have always operated very inclusively and transparently and this move to employee ownership reflects who we are; it seemed an obvious and natural step for us to take."
Associate Lisa McRavey, added: "By placing ownership in the hands of employees, the firm is creating an environment where shared purpose and collaborative innovation will thrive."
The change in ownership structure was most recently embraced by 7N Architects as part of a growing movement by built environment specialists towards employee ownership.
