Decision day looms for hundreds of Dullatur homes

As many as 650 homes could be built at a North Lanarkshire golf course to 'future proof' the club and address housing needs.

Dullatur Golf Club and Hallam Land propose 163 affordable homes as part of the development, with close to 50% of the development area reserved as open space, gardens and sports.

The EMA masterplan is built around two new access roads from Constarry Road and an upgraded Craiglinn Roundabout.

Gary Smith, executive director at Hallam Land, said: “By incorporating dedicated space for community facilities and active travel links, we have a great opportunity to create a truly connected neighbourhood where residents can walk or cycle to nearby amenities. We are now eager to take our vision forward that will improve the livelihoods of many local people and fundamentally aid economic growth.”

The land sale will permit Dullatur to proceed with a new course to help broaden access to the sport. Councillors will assess the plans on 27 November.

Homes will be embedded within a network of linear parks and active travel routes

Interesting plan -- two issues though ...

Scale / density / loss of greenspace.
Plus the powerlines.

Can we all just agree to end the term 'Linear Park'... Do people think it sounds cool? That and 'Urban Park'. Just call a park a park!
