£10m Ravenscraig logistics hub secures planning

North Lanarkshire Council has awarded planning consent for a £10m industrial development at Ravenscraig, one of the largest brownfield sites in Europe.

Fusion Assets and Hypostyle propose a cluster of four metal composite sheds on land west of Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, equating to 62,000 sq/ft of floor space suitable for industrial use, distribution and storage.

Part of the much larger SevenFourEight logistics hub, the development has been made possible by a newly completed dual carriageway and enabling works paid for by the Scottish Government's vacant & derelict land programme.

Russell Wilkie, director at Ravenscraig Limited, commented: “As one of Europe’s largest regeneration initiatives, Ravenscraig is evolving into a self-sufficient community with housing, education, transport, and employment opportunities. SevenFourEight is a crucial piece in this puzzle, set to become one of Scotland’s best-connected industrial hubs, with ideal access to both the M74 and M8 motorways."

The Fusion Assets application relates to the four buildings directly above and to the right of the roundabout.
