Fresh architectural arrivals continue to berth at Leith Docks which is now to be denoted by a gateway ten storey development from Forth Ports.Monickered “Pier One” the spanking £15m project will bring two new restaurants and office space to the growth area. The prominence of the structure will afford occupants panoramic views across Edinburgh.
Sutherland Hussey Architects competition entry utilised solid timber panels which can be prefabricated and bolted together on site, this method provides speed and precision benefits with the added advantage of being a sustainable material.
The winning design has not yet been divulged.
