Steam power reinvigorates a Thomson-inspired Victorian warehouse

A 19th-century Alexander Thomson-inspired warehouse in Glasgow's Merchant City has been granted a fresh lease of life following a facade refurbishment by John Gilbert Architects and AGM Stone on behalf of property manager Sentry.

84 Miller Street has been restored to its original Victorian grandeur following a deep steam clean part funded by Glasgow City Heritage Trust to improve its attractiveness to tenants.

Scott Abercrombie, associate director at John Gilbert Architects said: "Our restoration was the result of a successful collaboration with Sentry Management, who allowed us to both honour the building's architectural significance and at the same time, modernise its look and feel, bringing it back to life whilst respecting its history, including improvements to rainwater goods, windows and stonework."

The property houses a ground-floor bar and restaurant with three floors of commercial space above.
