Student demand prompts shift at key Finnieston residential site

Keltbray Developments is revisiting plans for a substantial residential development in Finnieston to substitute one residential block for student housing.

Otherwise adhering to existing plans by Fielden Clegg Bradley the changes will be limited to functional requirements of the change in use including amended window and balcony sizes and a reconfigured interior. An M&S supermarket will occupy the ground floor at Finnieston Street.

The public realm strategy centres on a new east-west pedestrian and cycle priority route linking a new public square to Finnieston and Minerva Streets.

In a statement, Keltbray wrote: "The materiality and design concept of the proposal is unchanged and the revised proposal will maintain the high-quality approach to the provision of public open space, noting that the contribution to urban repair provided by the approved development is a key requirement."

A revised planning application for the site, currently occupied by redundant car showrooms, will follow in October.

Architecture of the repeated sequel ... I'm tired of bricks between bands but the money isn't.
