Irvine infill development to deliver new homes

Land at Berry Drive, Irvine, has been earmarked for twin detached homes designed by Wham Architecture for separate clients.

The development is the latest in a series of residential proposals for the site, spurred on by the North Ayrshire Local Development Plan, that favours development on infill plots.

Both two-storey properties will be set back 10m from the street on approximately 700sq/m plots to accommodate off-street parking and rear gardens.

In a supporting statement, Wham wrote: "... the design features 2no. perpendicular dual-pitched roofs with an advanced feature gable to the front elevation. Taking cues from the existing materials of Berry Drive, the majority of the dwelling is finished externally with a white smooth wet dash render, with the advanced gable being finished in a dark grey brick to provide a contrast."

Detached homes are being built on plots to either side under separate applications.
