Holmes Miller to design a new Larkhall Leisure Centre
July 26 2024
Holmes Miller has been appointed by Hub South West Scotland and South Lanarkshire Council to build a replacement Larkhall Leisure Centre.
The architects join a design team led by BAM Construction for £23.9m project, expected to break ground in the latter part of 2025.
Alison Brown, the council’s head of Enterprise and Sustainable Development, said: “I am now delighted to be able to say that following the appointment of BAM Construction, enabling work is now scheduled to get underway in spring 2025 with the main construction work commencing in late 2025 and completing in 2027.
“Now that the project team has been formally appointed, they will be looking at opportunities to maximise the space within the available budget, which will be subject to engagement with the local community in the coming months.”
The new centre will target Passivhaus standards of operation and construction to help meet the council's net zero goals.
