Blackford infill brings a mix of townhouses and apartments

The site of a former school in Blackford, Edinburgh, is to be put to new use as urban housing with plans to deliver a mix of townhouses and apartments.

Cala Homes has launched St Crispin's Court, a development of 37 properties at the former St Crispin's School, since relocated to Burdiehouse.

Townhouses will offer direct garden access via bi-fold doors with a dedicated study providing room to work from home. Overcoming the protestations of neighbours on appeal the ISA-designed properties are arranged around a central amenity court to a density of 58 units per hectare.

Work to deliver 12 standalone affordable homes as part of the same development, the first new social housing in the area for 60 years, began earlier in the year.
