Affordable homes approval clears the way for Hilltown Market build

Springfield Partnership has earned the go-ahead from Dundee City Council to deliver 131 affordable homes with elements of ground-floor retail at the former Hilltown Market site on Main Street, Dundee.

Approval clears the way for the developer to transform the brownfield site with a range of energy-efficient gas-free apartments and houses.

Springfield Partnerships managing director, Tom Leggeat, said: “We are really pleased our plans to bring high quality, affordable homes to the area have been approved by Dundee City Council whilst transforming a neglected pocket of land in the city. With planning now in place, we expect to start work on the delivery of these homes in the coming months.”

Designed around a central communal space the homes will be managed by Hillcrest Housing Association with some flats customised for wheelchair users. Selected apartments will also have access to a private balcony.
