Nominees for the Scottish Design Awards 2024 can start chewing their fingernails in earnest as we begin the final countdown to our awards presentation on 27 June.

Behind the scenes, two judging panels have ranked hundreds of entries, sifting out the most exceptional submissions for a coveted gold or silver award. All those in the running can now prepare for the dramatic conclusion of the awards process as we recognise each winner in person for their achievements and broader contributions to the architecture and design community. 

Architecture chair Wendy Perring, founder of PAD Studio, said: "What impressed me most was the emphasis on biodiversity and a holistic consideration of placemaking... It was also encouraging to see increased awareness of and discussion around all aspects of sustainability: Great design cannot exist in isolation from environmental responsibility, and I’m thrilled to see so many embracing this ethos.

"The Scottish Design Awards were meticulously organised, and the event itself, a celebration of so much talent and ingenuity."

All nominees are invited to assemble for a gala awards presentation at the Double Tree Hotel by Hilton, Glasgow, on 27 June. In the meantime, you can browse all the shortlisted work online at the Scottish Design Awards 2024.
