Proposals for a 58-bed care home in Anniesland have been rubber-stamped by Glasgow City Council, clearing the way for CCG and Morrison Community Care to move on-site later this year.

Anniesland Suites has been designed by Holmes Miller as part of an agreement by a local sports club to sell off surplus land to finance repairs and maintenance.

Yarrow Recreation Club on Anniesland Road has agreed to hand over a disused tennis court and bowling green, consolidating its operations to a retained clubhouse and second green.

Morrison Community Care managing director, Paul Sokhi, said: “We understand the needs of the community, not just in addressing a growing ageing population but also securing the future of a much-loved local facility and I am delighted we have managed to address both here with this new development."

Morrison has formed a joint venture company with CCG to deliver the build, with input from Cowal Design, Design Me and CGRP. Completion is expected in 2026.
