Cool VIBES for TTS
December 9 2008
TTS, one of Scotland’s leading companies in renewable energy and environmental engineering, scooped a highly commended prize at the 2008 Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland (VIBES) Awards ceremony. Now in its ninth year, VIBES recognises and rewards the efforts of Scottish businesses to become more efficient and competitive through improving environmental performance and benefiting a company's bottom-line.
The company was awarded a special highly commended prize in the ‘service’ award category for its commitment to good environmental practice, both internally and externally. These have resulted in significant reductions in energy consumption and Co2 emissions.
Director John Benson of TTS said: “We are very pleased to be recognised for the environmental improvement work we’ve successfully undertaken. We have a strong team with extensive knowledge and a passion for energy optimisation. We have the drive to help other companies play their role in protecting the environment, saving them money and reducing CO2 emissions.
“Since 2007, our recommendations from energy audits have generated potential savings for small businesses of almost £100,000, over two million kWh and 688 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions – which is equivalent to taking approximately 240 cars off the road. We’re in the process of expanding in the areas of environmental engineering and renewable technologies. Our aim is to become the ‘first choice’ for businesses looking for help in these areas and we hope our recent accolade at VIBES will help put us even more firmly on the map.”
