Paisley builds outwards with plans for 37 homes

Paisley's former Hawkhead Hospital is set for residential redevelopment with plans for 37 semi-detached properties and townhouses for private sale.

Cruden Homes is leading the transformation of Paisley's urban fringe, furthering the growth of Hawkhead as a family-friendly location.

Hawkhead Mews will offer a variety of three-bedroom properties to designs by Holmes Miller but will entail demolition of the B-listed Ross House. The former maternity ward, dating from 1949, has lain empty for decades and is considered uneconomic to repair.

Hazel Davies, sales and marketing director of Cruden Homes, said: “Hawkhead is a fantastic location and ticks all the boxes for modern family living. These spacious and flexible new homes are set in a thriving and established community with a wealth of amenities and easy access to Paisley, Glasgow and the central belt.”

The new homes are expected to be completed in autumn 2024.

Sums up the standard of new-build housing in this country when you feel the need to congratulate the developer for including a few square metres of colour.
