70 affordable Jedburgh homes are poised to break ground

Scottish Borders Housing Association is to bring 70 highly insulated affordable homes to Jedburgh on the site of the former Howdenburn Primary.

Working in partnership with Cruden Homes and Aitken Turnbull Architects the housing provider will break ground later this year on the 5.57 acre brownfield site.

Ben Glennon, associate and project architect at Aitken Turnbull commented: "The essence of our design centres on a new community green space, which will serve as a focal point for the development and Howdenburn Drive. New informal pedestrian routes will be established to ensure connectivity with the neighbourhood, and we will be working with the council to provide ecological and amenity enhancement for the development that will benefit the whole of the Howdenburn area."

Emphasising green space the proposals will retain existing hedgerows and traditional proportions to fit in with the established neighbourhood.
