Housebuilder draws on tradition at timewarp Longniddry Village

A housebuilder has launched a new phase of homes at Longniddry, East Lothian, emphasising traditional village design.

Cruden Homes is building a further 102 properties at the development, ranging from one-bedroom flats through to five-bedroom detached houses.

Longniddry Village reinterprets period features for modern living at the behest of landowner Wemyss and March Estates together with master developer, Socially Conscious Capital.

Hazel Davies, sales and marketing director of Cruden Homes, said: “East Lothian is an extremely sought-after area to live and Longniddry Village is the hidden gem in its crown. When home buyers quickly flocked to buy the first phase of new homes here, many missed out, so we are delighted to announce a further 102 homes for sale."

The 450 home masterplan has been developed by Taylor Architecture & Urbanism.

Whatever your stylistic tastes it has more urban design 'meat' on it than most semi rural executive scatter box rubbish does.

The new homes in the village are much nicer than the older Longniddry builds in my opinion. The colour schemes are genuinely pleasant to look at.

Agree no.3. East Lothian is full of depressing cookie cutter boxes (Musselburgh, Dunbar e.g. with more to come probably). If it means my eyes don't have to look at more sterile, characterless houses with their awful, ugly boxed fascias then this development is a vast improvement
