Offices and an apart hotel to activate an empty Stirling building
March 12 2024
New life is to be breathed into the vacant upper floors of a historic building in Stirling city centre after building warrant approval was given for their conversion to offices and an apart-hotel.
Former council offices at 45-51 King Street will serve a dual use going forward with the first floor offering office accommodation below two floors of short-stay accommodation above.
An existing ground-floor retail unit will remain as before. The complex conversion, conservation and refurbishment project has been steered through Stirling Council's planning department by Block Architects, securing the future of a B-listed building which had been left vacant for several years.
In a statement, the practice wrote: "Block Architects were appointed to deliver a scheme for the sensitive yet distinct conversion of the former office building to include a luxurious 15-room bespoke aparthotel and 11 high-end individual offices, complete with breakout spaces for co-working and a hot-desk hub. The proposals also included a state-of-the-art podcast studio available for flexible rent, as well as a modest gym with shower facilities for exclusive guest and staff use."
Interior designers IBDP, in collaboration with the visualisation studio Abstract Canvas, drove the design intent for the project in consultation with the client.
