Eight detached homes round off Jordanhill Park completion

A housebuilder has wrapped up development at Jordanhill Park in Glasgow's West End with the launch of eight sprawling detached homes and a final four townhouses.

Housebuyers looking for maximal space are offered three five-bedroom house types within the parkland development, designed by 7N Architects.

Suzanne McElhiney, sales and marketing director at Cala Homes (West), said: “The first time we launched these house types there was plenty of interest from all types of buyers looking for high-specification homes in the city’s west end.

"We anticipate that interest will remain particularly high especially as we have our showhomes open to give prospective homebuyers a glimpse of the luxury on offer."

The centrepiece of the estate is the B-listed David Stow building which has been converted into apartments.

Perhaps just an unflattering photo/angle but what a poor elevation to the street...those are some very mean windows!!

Honking -- the military blockhouse design vibe just doesn't suit the West End.

Very Hudson's Bay Company -- their must he a lot of fur in Jordanhill.

Not good.

Shockingly dull... I thought 7n were meant be good?? It looks like all the money was spent on a nice brick product and that's it.
Then again, maybe the developers value engineered it into oblivion...

I thought that the new Bar-L was being built in the East end?

Few would pull up on that tiny drive and look at that brown and grey home with a weird look and think they made it in life. Has Cala never heard of kerb appeal and natural light? Appreciate the back might be wall to wall glass but the kerb appeal is non existent.

#7 re the comments on the austerity/lack of windows etc - that's your 'defensible space' right there; a fortress.

I actually quite like it. Wouldn't live in it myself mind, but for someone else..
