A mixed residential neighbourhood has won the planning all-clear for Glennie Road, Newcraighall, subject to conditions.

Developer Cullross, acting on behalf of Hillcrest Homes, will now deliver a mix of flats, colony-style properties and townhouses, including 163 affordable homes and 57 for private sale.

Designs by jmarchitects arrange properties amidst parkland, each within a 10-minute walk of a school, open place, play parks and Musselburgh station.

Rod Duncan, director of jmarchitects, said: “The six month process from start to approval is testament to the team and to the City of Edinburgh Council. The masterplan on an allocated site will deliver 220 new homes within a design framework that is based on sustainable and biodiverse principles with placemaking at its heart.”

A linear park and active travel route are central to the plans.
