Whisky investment business relocates HQ from Amsterdam to Falkland
September 19 2023
A global whisky collection business is to move its headquarters from Amsterdam to the Fife village of Falkland.
Scotch Whisky Investments has purchased 10 acres in the historic village with a view to Held by investors for profit rather than consumption. The site will also provide space for an education suite and marketing of whisky as a viable investment choice.
Replacing St John’s Works, latterly in use as a paper bag factory, the HQ combines offices, shops and several cottages for customers and staff overseen by Andrew Black Design.
Keith Rennie, managing director for Scotch Whisky Investments, said: “Our vision as a company is to showcase and educate people about single malt Scotch whisky, as well as promote investment in the commodity.”
The development dovetails with a £10m plan for 23 additional maturation warehouses suitable for holding up to 200,000 casks on a 7.7-hectare site at Compton Road East in Glenrothes.
A separate planning application is expected by the end of the year for a complementary whisky collection.
