Finnieston build-to-rent complex completes

Drum Property Group has applied the finishing touches to its G3 Square apartments in Finnieston, Glasgow, following the completion of phase back in 2021.

The £31m build-to-rent development by DarntonB3 Architects for Edmund de Rothschild Real Estate Investment Management is the latest addition to the burgeoning district, delivering a further 113 flats in addition to 108 previously built.

Graeme Bone, group managing director of Drum commented: “The building’s design echoes the height and feel of nearby traditional sandstone buildings and crescents, with contemporary interiors, landscaped outdoor areas and dedicated car and cycle parking spaces.

"Being located close to the M8 and Exhibition train station and within walking distance of the city centre, G3 Square has proved very appealing.”

Spread across three separate buildings G3 Square employs a centralised heating and energy centre to provide more efficient heat and power.

There is nothing in that statement that is correct! Utter tosh. A sea of parking and minimum windows and amenity. Another fine example of Place Making that GCC will be promoting, but hey, the de Rothschild's will be making a killing from it.

I see a giant gap site with zombie car parks and two blocks in it, next to a motorway

Drum Property are just so talented. Look at the imagination and creativity that's gone into that.

Landscape architect responsible for the vast amounts of hard-landscaping needs to have a word with himself/herself. Have we learned nothing from the cities past?

They really managed to capture and harness the spirit of the city with that design. I love how it nods to the city's industrial past, with a subtle transition to modern Glasgow with the effortless 'Easter Eggs' throughout the design.

Great to see a proper iconic development finally landing in Glasgow. Eat your heart out ancient Egyptians and you passe Sphinx and big triangles! Drum have smashed Glasgow onto the world map and they aint finished yet!

Looks rather horrible, soulless and totally barren.

The main part of the building is one of the ugliest buildings in glasgow. I saw it being built and it’s cheap and nasty. Utter disgrace this was allowed to be built next to the St Vincent conservation area.
