Bruach Architects has downsized plans for a planned residential development at Southloch Street, Springburn, on behalf of Merchant Homes and Advance Construction.

A public consultation shares the revised intent for 55 homes for social rent, including 12 terraced houses, down from 84 as first envisaged.

Working with DWA Landscape Architects the applicant promises to connect surrounding footpaths with all properties accessed via a potentially adoptable road.

Strengthening the street edge the project draws design cues from nearby tenements, such as passive street surveillance and promotion of community through shared stairwells and backcourts.
