The art of success
November 28 2008
Gareth Hoskins has spirited away the Arts trophy in the Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Awards 2008.Run jointly by the Scotsman Publications and Glenfiddich, the event is run with a view to establishing “the individuals who inspire our nation”.
The Prospect Power 100 numero uno was already celebrating an accomplished 2008 and will doubtless now be savouring a dram or two as the practice contemplates the moment.
The first architect ever to be nominated for the award romped to victory in the end after overcoming a phalanx of creative stars including painter, Alison Watt; ceramicist, Lotte Glob and gallery director, Richard Ingleby.
architecturescotland readers got in the spirit of things by helping to whisk Hoskins to victory as the sole architectural nominee via the public vote.
The ceremony will be broadcast on STV on St Andrew’s Day, November 30.
