Barratt Developments has delivered 114 affordable homes at Cammo Meadows, Edinburgh, in the initial phase of the Cammo Estate masterplan.

Delivered in partnership with Places for People the development includes a mix of one and two-bedroom flats as well as three-bedroom terraces.

Katie Smart, Director at Places for People Scotland, said: “At Places for People, we work to change lives by creating and supporting thriving communities and Cammo Meadows is no exception."

Nick Wright, development director at Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes East Scotland, added: “These affordable homes will enhance the lives of those within the local community by creating modern, energy-efficient accommodation in desirable locations.”

Ground floor properties will have access to private outdoor space and a newly created network of paths and cycle tracks will connect to the surrounding Cammo Estate.

Not so long ago we complained about builders using the same designs and external finishes in every part of the country without the slightest nod to local traditions or designs. Now we can't even tell what builder it is.

Looking at the website these start at £304k - would love to pay that for a home that overlooks a car park.
