Red light at Darnick Green
November 26 2008
An appeal to overturn an earlier rejection of a £12million housing development has fallen on deaf ears at the Scottish Government by being rejected in turn. The 38 home scheme tabled by JS Crawford near Melrose was deemed not in keeping with the area.
The proposal would have occupied a green field site at Darnick village, zoned for housing for the past three decades.
Unusually some residents accept that the field is open for development but controversially criticise the mooted proposal as too dense.
