Springfield Properties has secured planning consent for the next phase of Elgin South Village, a collection of 186 homes - 47 of which will be affordable.

Moray Council granted the green light to the development, which embraces the 20-minute neighbourhood model of keeping homes, services and amenities tightly grouped.

Already home to the Moray Sport Centre, playparks and a primary school the village will now expand off Birnie Road, introducing a village square and retail to the mix.

Dave Main, Springfield Managing director (North), commented: “We’re really pleased the next stage of Elgin South has been supported by Moray Council. This planning consent is a milestone for the next chapter of the village and allows the continued delivery of excellent quality, energy-efficient homes for people in Elgin."

Emphasising energy efficiency the homes follow the village model adopted by Springfield at Dykes of Gray in Dundee and Bertha Park, Perth.
