A second major golf development in the north east is set to tee off in less than 48 hours after Donald Trump’s resort hit the ground running.

The Muir Group intend to build a £115 million course designed by former Open Champion Paul Lawrie over the next 10 years.

A detailed planning application will be submitted next year.

The move secures a future for the historic Blairs seminary which will now be subject to £30 million of investment to transform the structure into a hotel.  A proportion of the grounds will be subject to residential development with 280 homes planned of which 60 will be affordable.
