Watersports & parkland to bring West Lothian New Town to life

Detailed plans have been prepared for a new public park on the site of an old West Lothian brickworks as part of the Winchburgh masterplan.

Daisy Park by Optimised Environments will link the Union Canal and a newly built marina to the developing New Town, incorporating a wild learning garden and viewpoints toward the Forth Bridges along the way.

John Hamilton, chief executive at Winchburgh Developments said: “Some of the locals still remember the brickworks when it was operational and we know many of them are looking forward to seeing the old industrial site take on a new lease of life.”

A watersport park is also included in a flooded clay pit, serving as a base for wakeboarding, paddleboarding and a floating rope obstacle course.

When complete the £1bn Winchburgh development will deliver 3,800 homes, schools and a town centre.
