Art Deco Scotland: Design and Architecture in the Jazz Age

Art Deco Scotland: Design and Architecture in the Jazz Age is an expansive exhibition exploring the influence of the Art Deco style in Scotland during the inter-war period.

The exhibition runs from 5th to 28th April in The Glasgow School of Art's Reid Corridor, and features images, ephemera, film, and textual interpretation across nine themes exploring how the style appeared through the 1920’s and 30’s. Art Deco Scotland is part of the global centenary celebration of the 1925 Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs, and also part of Glasgow 850, a year long celebration of the city's 850th anniversary.

The exhibition accompanies a major new book of the same title, written by Bruce Peter, Professor of Design History at The Glasgow School of Art, and published by Historic Environment Scotland, which will be launched at a special preview event on Friday 4th April.
