Clifford Street
Family-run housebuilder, AS Homes (Scotland) Ltd, has completed the handover of 36 new affordable homes in Bellahouston in partnership with Home Group.
The new homes are located at North Gower Street, on the former Bellahouston Academy site which has been transformed to provide much-needed properties for the surrounding Glasgow community. The quality development includes a mix of modern one- and two-bedroom flats with attractive patios and private garden spaces. Creating a safe and vibrant place to live, the new homes provide a welcoming neighbourhood landscaped with greenery, including trees, plants and hedges.
An informal playpark has been provided for local children to play and interact, as well as on-site parking and cycle storage facilities for residents and visitors. Designed by George Buchanan Architects and located within a cluster of B-listed buildings, all of the homes are designed to support varying occupier needs and are Secure By Design Gold accredited.
Modelled to meet Glasgow’s gold hybrid standard for suitability, the development incorporates sustainable methods to maximise energy-efficiency. Solar PV panels have been installed to enhance use of natural daylight and reduce day-to-day energy costs for tenants, and high-performance double-glazed windows have been fitted to improve insulation throughout the flats. Positioned near to Glasgow’s M8 and amidst popular bus routes, the homes provide a convenient and accessible location for Glasgow city centre.
The wider Bellahouston area has a lot to offer tenants, with plenty of local amenities nearby, including schools, parks, cafes, bars and shops.
