AoU announces Awards Shortlist 2012

Both Edinburgh and Glasgow have been nominated in the Great Streets category this year.
Study tours to the shortlisted nominees destinations are planned for later in the year. The nominees are judged by academicians against recognised criteria, including Governance; Local Character and Distinctiveness; User Friendliness; Commercial Success and Viability; Environmental and Social Sustainability, and Functionality.
The results are published in the Academy's relaunched 'Learning from Place' book series, published by Routledge. The findings provide an invaluable evidence base for best practice in good urban design and place-making, from known successful case studies.
