October 11 2017
7N have filed their latest planning application for their Fraser Avenue development at Inverkeithing, Fife, to provide new accommodation for existing retailers.A key focal point for an emerging regeneration of the disadvantaged community the development will allow an existing parade of shops and flats to be demolished to accommodate a scheduled programme of demolition and construction.
Conceived as a civic pavilion slotted amongst new buildings the shops will adopt a domestic scale, sitting below a linear pitched roof, meeting the street by way of a colonnaded walkway.
Cllr Judy Hamilton convener community and housing services committee said: “I know that the design team undertook consultation with the existing shops owners and the wider community so would like to thank everyone who took time to get involved in this process and provide valuable feedback.”
Delivered in partnership with Fife Council, Kingdom Initiatives and Campion Homes the new stores will be delivered in tandem with the first phase of 53 terraced homes which is already on-site, timetabled for delivery by the end of 2018.
The £26m masterplan calls for demolition of 236 existing properties and their replacement with 189 affordable homes
