Bath Street student halls amendments up bed spaces to 330
October 13 2015
Church Lukas have filed a number of internal amendments to their plans to build a huge student housing scheme at 240 Bath Street, Glasgow, including an increase in the number of rooms from 320 to 330 beds.Prepared on behalf of operator Greystar Europe Holdings Ltd the plans will see a number of internal alterations carried out to increase amenity space at street level and make room for the new bed spaces; including a reduction in retail space to cater for a single tenant and a smaller basement area.
Other changes will see the building entrance repositioned to Bath Street but in all other aspects the scheme would remain as currently approved.
Church Lukas observed: “Building on the established parameters of the extant planning consent, these proposals confirm the clients intent to deliver a high quality product whilst adhering to the approved aesthetic principles.”
Interior design work is being carried out by 74 Architects.

I am sorry but the quality of what is proposed here is terrible, it displays no real imagination and it simply makes no attempt to acknowledge adjacent buildings. More evermore banal boxes, will the ethereal presence of the top tier really look this lightweight...nope.

Beautiful looking building but in the wrong place. This area is run down you only need to look at the pavements and surrounding buildings.
