June 30 2015
Springfield Properties have tabled plans to construct a £1bn suburb on the outskirts of Perth, constituting some 3,000 homes on 333 hectares of land.Bertha Park will include two new primary schools and an 1,100 place secondary as well as a business park, shops and restaurants as part of a 30 year master plan.
Phase 1 of the proposal calls for construction of more than 1,000 homes from 2017, comprising a mixture of private, affordable and retirement accommodation in a range of detached, semi-detached and flatted properties.
Springfield Properties chairman Sandy Adam said: “It is one of the biggest ever developments in Perth and is an entirely new concept for us, rather than extending a community in an existing location, we are creating a new community.”
