Saltire Housing Award winners named

Paper Igloo have picked up this year’s Saltire Medal for their delivery of a self-build refurbishment of an existing farmhouse in Invergarry at this year's Saltire Housing Awards.This saw 13 projects singled out for awards and commendations including Kraft Architecture’s Refurbished House at BRE Innovation Park, recipient of an innovation in housing commendation alongside MAST Architects Bellrock Close.
Other schemes to earn a nod included West Pilton Crescent by Malcolm Fraser Architects; Laurieston by Elder & Cannon and Page\Park and West Burn Lane by Sutherland Hussey
Visual artist Toby Paterson, guest chair of the awards, said of Invergarry: “This brave, self-build refurbishment of an existing farmhouse has been beautifully designed and constructed to create an elegant family home. It fluently combines three disparate forms to address the contours of the site, particular views and landscape.”
