Perth sport academy secures planning permission

The University of the Highlands and Islands has secured planning permission for a Clague Architects designed academy of sport and wellbeing within its Perth campus.Stretching to 5,000sq/m the £6.5m centre will offer facilities for hair and beauty training as well as sport and academic uses with the potential for some community access.
Designed by architect Richard Baron up to stage 3 the elongated facility extends to a full 86m and a height of 10.5m to accommodate an internal climbing centre. Faced in red brick and areas of matt black metal cladding it is intended to harmonise with the existing campus.
Work is scheduled to commence this summer for completion by autumn 2016.
