South Glasgow University Hospital completes
January 27 2015
An £842m hospital campus in Govan is to be handed over to the NHS following the completion of construction work on the 1,209 bed campus.South Glasgow University Hospital will begin a phased transfer of services in the city from April through to June when a new 356 bed Royal Hospital for Sick Children begins operation from within the campus.
Marking the occasion Scottish health secretary Shona Robison said: "This is an exciting stage in the development of the new South Glasgow Hospital campus as we get ever closer towards completion of the project and welcoming patients into the facility.
"This development has been Scotland's biggest-ever hospital building project, so bringing this in ahead of time and under budget is a real achievement in itself.”
Brookfield Multiplex delivered the Nightingale Associates design following a four year construction programme.

Delivery of a project of this size and complexity is quite an achievement. But the building remains as ugly as sin itself

Bit Harsh Bonzo !
Its possibly not helped by the photo
That and the three 1960’s tower blocks that are partially hiding the building
Any ideas when those 3 are due for demolition ?

I hate to break it to you Bilbo, but those tower blocks ain't from the 60s... That's actually the Glasgow Harbour 'luxury apartment' development!

Sadly, the interior is even worse than the exterior, and looks like it's had the **** 'value engineered' out of it.
The only pleasure on the eye is looking out the bedroom windows at the rest of Glasgow.

#3 - Perhaps applying a bit of lateral thinking before positing. I am afraid Mr Bilbo's post is layered with rhetoric. He knows full well what the 3 towers are. He is also an 'ex' member of the practice who delivered them. Childish.

I'm more Timothy Biggins than Bilbo Baggins if the truth be told.
