De Vere Village Urban Resort launches in Aberdeen
November 19 2014
De Vere hotels have completed their first Urban Resort in Scotland as part of an expansion drive with a 148 bed hotel in Aberdeen’s Prime four Business Park. The Halliday Fraser Munro designed scheme opens on 1 December and is the first to establish the chain’s ‘urban resort’ format in Scotland.
Incorporating a 20m pool, spa, café and banqueting hall the scheme will serve as a ‘hub’ for the wider office park.
De Vere is currently in process of delivering two 120 bed hotels at Glasgow’s Pacific Quay and Crewe Road South, Edinburgh, both of which are scheduled to open next year.

Oh yes! Aberdeen is back on the architectural map of the UK with another "fine" example of contemporary architecture.
The rectilinear form mimics the ashlar granite blocks that give the city it's name whilst the impressive and utterly unique (I think possibly in Scotland?) combination of what seems to be dark stone? panels and dark reflective glass lends itself to an unparalleled luxury and class not seen outside of London.
The fenestration is yet another excellent showing of façade work, with the bold grid of mullions and transoms subtly reflecting the once nearby grid-like pattern of farmland that was sold on the cheap for this magnificent development. And the opening lights? Talk about a rigid conformity to room size - what a beautiful ratio.
More please.
