Contractor team appointed for AECC redevelopment

Henry Boot Developments has named the contractor team which will deliver a new Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre (AECC), ahead of a public consultation to be held within the next two months.This will see SASANBELL design a new AECC at Dyce whilst Cooper Cromar will be tasked with overseeing the redevelopment of the existing site with a separate team.
Nick Harris of Henry Boot Developments said: "We are carrying out a number of pre-consultation meetings with key stakeholders ahead of the first phase of public consultation.
"The new AECC facility is a vital element of Aberdeen's future growth and development, not least as a World Energy City and the Energy Capital of Europe. Therefore, the new conference centre and associated facilities will be developed with the ambition to make it the most sustainable facility of its kind in the UK.”
The project teams also includes: Turner & Townsend (programme & project management; cost management); Arup (civil & structural engineer); Mott MacDonald (transport); DSSR (M&E services engineer); Brindley Associates (landscape architect & ecology); Hurley Palmer Flatt (energy & sustainability); GVA James Barr (planning consultant); Streets UK (community engagement); Goodson Associates (civil & structural engineer); AECOM (transport); Ryden (planning consultant); Hirst (landscape architect & ecology); and Perceptive Communicators (communications).
