CDA secure Aberdeen office extension approval
February 20 2014
An Aberdeen office block is to be refurbished and extended to provide 48,500sq/ft of accommodation after the plans were given the all clear by planners.Langlands House on Huntly Street will be rebranded as AB1 to signify a three storey glass-fronted extension and penthouse level, with air conditioning and raised flooring installed throughout.
Designed by CDA the scheme will reconfigure the 1978 block to meet modern office requirements.
Katherine Monro, a partner with letting agents Knight Frank, said: “The design adds a fresh and contemporary feel to the site and, internally, the building is set to undergo impressive improvements guided by the requirements of the modern day occupier.
“Our research has long demonstrated a shortage in the supply of quality office accommodation in the city centre, particularly on this scale. We anticipate strong interest as there is no other new or refurbished accommodation on this scale being delivered this year.”
Scottish Widows is partnering with developer Manse on the speculative project, which is expected to commence shortly for completion in October.
